Gabor is a jack of all trades. He is creating relaxing music and magical sounds in the world and in the app itself. He is also responsible for automation around checking code quality, creating builds and deploying test versions to our devices, which can be incredibly complex sometimes.
What do you like most working for Sponge Hammer Games?
The friendly atmosphere. I enjoy working with my colleagues on exciting tasks. My personal preference was always to work in a small team with friendly people and I found that here. Although we work remotely and never meet in person, we have a fantastic team spirit and are close to each other.
Tell us something about you that might surprise us!
I share my home with five quails, three dogs, four cats, five chickens and one cute goat! I love nature, and I save every animal I can.

What does your typical day look like?
I get up early and feed the animals. When I let them out, one of my cats leads the dogs out. I quickly tidy up the house and make some breakfast. Usually, a little time is left before work starts, so I go back to bed. At ten I start work. I go through the important tasks first. Sometimes I cook a quick lunch, but most of the time I just carry on working the whole day. My evening routine involves feeding the animals, cooking dinner and playing or watching something.
What do you like most in Flatstone Grove?
I love the art style. Magdi’s drawings are beautiful. They create a lovely atmosphere in the game. It would have been my favourite book as a child. The story fits perfectly to the world and to the art style.
Can you tell us a few things about your role in the project?
I do a bit of everything. I did some coding in Unity, used Blender for the characters, created the music and sound effects, and I am also responsible for automation around checking code quality, creating builds and deploying test versions to our devices. Planning the back-end is super interesting because of the scalability. The music and sounds are challenging too. I love it, but the whole sound design isn’t ready yet. I am spending a lot of time on it to figure it out.
